How Affiliates Turn Any Sales Page Into Video Topics, Keywords and a Script

The hardest part of an affiliate video isn’t making it anymore. AI tools like Skribbly turn a topic into a finished whiteboard explainer in minutes. The hard part comes before that: which video do you make for this offer, what do buyers search for, and which claims can you actually make without getting something wrong?

Here’s the research workflow I use for every offer I promote with video. It starts on the offer’s own sales page and ends with a script ready to paste into your video tool. I built a Chrome extension for it, Topic Scout, which comes with my Skribbly bonus. Here it is in action:

Topic Scout: from a sales page to keywords, video ideas, a fact sheet and a script.

Why Affiliate Videos Need Research First

  • Buyers search before they buy. “What is [product]”, “[product] vs [alternative]”, “is [product] worth it”. A video that matches one of those phrases gets found by people who are already deciding.
  • AI writers fill gaps. Give an AI video tool a bare topic and it may “remember” a feature, a price or a guarantee that isn’t real. In affiliate marketing that’s a refund, a complaint or worse.
  • The sales page is your source. Every claim you make should trace back to what the vendor actually says.

The Workflow: Sales Page to Script in 5 Steps

Topic Scout Chrome extension: turn a sales page into YouTube keywords, video topics and a fact sheet
Read the page, pull the keywords, check the facts: Topic Scout in the Chrome side panel.

1. Open the offer’s sales page

Open the sales page of the product you promote and click “Read this page” in Topic Scout’s side panel. It works on any page: a sales page, a review article or a YouTube video. You can also paste text from a PDF or the JV page.

2. Find what buyers type into YouTube

Type the product’s niche as the seed keyword (Topic Scout suggests some from the page), choose language and country, and run the keyword scout. It collects YouTube’s own search suggestions and groups them into questions, comparisons, “best” lists, how-to and beginner phrases. Star the ones that fit your offer.

The best affiliate angles usually hide in the “what is”, “vs” and “best” groups. Note that autocomplete shows what people search, not how many, and Topic Scout says so instead of inventing volumes.

3. Pick one of ten video ideas

One click turns the page and your keywords into ten video ideas, each with a search-first title, the video type (explainer, X vs Y, top list, how-to or story) and an angle. For affiliates, the explainer (“What is…”) and comparison ideas are the ones to start with.

4. Build the fact sheet: no invented claims

For the topic you pick, Topic Scout builds a fact sheet from the page only. Every feature, price, guarantee and number is tied to the sentence on the sales page it came from. Anything the page doesn’t state shows up as a [CHECK] blank, and facts it can’t confirm are left out. That’s exactly the list you want before an AI writes a single word of your script.

Underneath you fill in the script brief: audience, tone, number of scenes, hook and your call to action. Point the call to action at your bonus page, not the raw sales page. My post on bridge page conversion math explains why.

5. Get a paste-ready script

Copy the “Facts to use” block into your video tool, copy a ready prompt for ChatGPT or Claude, or let Topic Scout write the voice-over script itself: scene by scene, with five hook options and facts only from your fact sheet. The script pastes straight into Skribbly’s “Use my own script” box. I showed how Skribbly turns that into a finished whiteboard video in my affiliate whiteboard video workflow.

One Offer, Several Videos

From a single sales page you usually get at least three videos: a “What is [product]?” explainer, a “[product] vs [alternative]” comparison and a “How to [result] with [product]” walkthrough. Topic Scout saves each topic with its keywords and fact sheet in a library, with a status from idea to made to published, so you always know which video is next.

What You Need

  • Chrome (or Edge). Topic Scout runs in the side panel.
  • No AI key for the keyword research.
  • Your own OpenAI, Claude or Gemini key for topics, fact sheets and scripts. The cost of each run is shown in the extension, and your key stays in your browser.

FAQ

Can I use Topic Scout for offers other than Skribbly?

Yes. It reads any page, so you can research video topics for any product you promote. Skribbly is just the tool the scripts are formatted for.

Does it make up search volumes?

No. It shows real YouTube autocomplete phrases and states clearly that autocomplete doesn’t include search volumes.

Will the script include claims the vendor doesn’t make?

Scripts only use facts from your fact sheet, and every fact is tied to its source line on the page. Missing details show as [CHECK] blanks for you to fill in or leave out.

Disclosure: Topic Scout is my own extension, included as a bonus with Skribbly purchases made through my affiliate link. If you buy through that link I earn a commission at no extra cost to you. Your results depend on your offers, content and consistency.
